(Please note, if you have a swimming choice hour after school you will need another swimsuit and towel!)
The following assignments should be written in your child's planner, which is inside their zipper binder. Parents, please use this blog to 'cross-check' with your child's planner. They should be completing their planner every day in class.
Homework
3rd graders - Read 20 mins (minimum) each night
4th graders - Read 30 mins (minimum) each night
(Bring in a chapter book to read in class. You will keep your book inside your binder)
This week, students read Chapters 16-20 in our community read.
This week’s home discussion questions:
In the book, the children devise a plan to go off on their own to help their friend. This is scary and risky. Have your student explain the kids’ plan to you and predict how their parents might react when they find out.
Language Arts

Tell someone what "Lead" you chose for your paragraph in your Writer's Notebook
Spelling - Students have their second list of words in their planner. The word list has been assigned in their Powerspelling account (click the Powerspelling link under Language Arts on the right side of this blog) login with username initials and usual password (Learnanimal/number period) Play all the games on Powerspelling by Sunday 10/16 Test is 10/17
Math
4th Grd. - Test is tomorrow H/R 1-12 &1-13 Due Monday
3rd Grd. - H/R 1-14
This book is in your child's binder and should be returned to school every day.
XtraMath Enrollment for 3rd graders - Please show your XtraMath letter to your parent. Enroll on the site and try out a "practice session with Mr. C!". XtraMath sessions usually only last about 5-7 mins.
Social Studies
