Subjects taught today:
Language Arts: Worked on Sound reading comprehension. Finished a Moodle quiz on Marven of the Great North Woods
Math: (3rd) lesson 2.8 (4th) Unit 2 Test was today
Science: We were treated to a presentation from Mr. Flaherty who brought in an exact replica of Edision’s Tinfoil Phonograph. The kids (and Mrs. Parkin) got a chance to cut a record (- well, a piece of foil really!) See the movie clip below and find out why a singing career will never be in my future. :) Imagine what Simon would say!!!

Goal setting letter (Set your goals and return the letter by October 29th.) Paragraph practice letter.

Make-up testing on all other days through Friday, October 29th for kids who were absent on the above days.

Reading

Attention 4th graders! The Battle of The Books is gearing up again! The launch date for this year’s Battle books is October 25th Are YOU going to do battle this year?

Math
3rd- H.L 2.8

3rd Grade End of year fact expectations:
Students should have quick mental recall of the following number of facts by the end of the year: 30 addition/30 subtraction facts in 2 mins and 50 division/50 multiplication facts in 3 mins

4th – No S.L. Geo museum due Oct 21st

Science
Go to your group's 'Sound' wiki page (It is linked at the side of this blog) At home, each group member should take notes to plan your group's paragraph. The title/prompt is : How Does the Ear Work? There are links to watch to help you answer this question.

Type your notes in a separate column in the organizer (remember- click in the small box. It will stretch as you type in it). You may NOT copy text from another partner. You must write your own idea in each cell. Due Friday October 22nd
