Attention 4th graders!
The Battle of The Books launch date for this year’s Battle books is October 25th
Parents; Please review info about Battle with your child. Sign and return the attached permission slip if you wish your child to participate and check out a Battle book on Launch Day. Battle is great fun! While we try to have multiple copies of Battle books, it is impossible to have a book for every child on the first day of checkout. We only have 100 copies of the books. However, books are available for purchase on Amazon and via our bookstore partners. All students will receive a Battle Book mark on Launch Day. Know that the Battle List is “top secret” until Launch Day and that Borders (Birmingham and Beverly Hills), BookBeat in Oak Park, and Barnes and Noble on Orchard Lake near 15 mile will not make books available until the afternoon of the launch. Students can also borrow books from our public library partners : Baldwin, West Bloomfield, Franklin, Southfield and Troy, all have our Battle list. I have placed links for the Battle materials on the district Media site at http://bitgsquad.ning.com/page/battle-of-the-books. You can also get to this link via our district website under Academics/Curriculum/Media Services. We will be depending on Parent support for Battle during the next 16 weeks.
