Party Update:
We are in need of volunteers to coordinate the parties for Parkin's class. We do have parents signed up for various different assignment (e.g. food/snacks/water,and paper products) Thank you for that! - If you have signed up to help as a 'general helper' and have a game or craft in mind, please let me know.
We need help with providing a craft and game for each party event.  
Please contact Harriet Sherman or Sarah Chisholm if you can help in this area for any of the parties. THANK YOU!

Mail: Check for mail in your blue Take Home folders

Make a collection of digital photographs (approx 6 photos) taken from this summer or from an activity before this summer that you took part in. Stored them on a flash drive or send them as j.pegs to your school email account) You will be using them in school to create a Photostory. The due date for the photo’s is September 30th

3rd – Unit 1 test was today. H.Link 1.14 it is a Family letter. (Parents- Please tear out the back page of the family letter) Please keep your Home Link book inside your binder!
Timed Addition/Subtraction packet Friday Sept.30th
Online Math tests: 2 online quizzes to complete using thatquiz.org. The tests are: Timed Addition #1, and Timed subtraction #1. They are due by end of day - Monday Oct 3rdth These tests are timed.

ThatQuiz requires Internet Explorer 7+ or Firefox to function properly. Macintosh users (OS X) will have best results from Firefox, but may also use Safari version 4 or up. Cookies must be enabled.

How to take the online math tests:
Scroll down to Frequently Visited Places Click on thatquiz.org (for 3rd grade math students) Click on your name and use your school password to log in and take the assigned tests.
Or, log into your school email and click on the emails (with a link) that have been sent to you.

3rd Grade End of Year fact expectations:
Students should have quick mental recall of the following number of facts by the end of the year: 30 addition/30 subtraction facts in 2 mins and 50 division/50 multiplication facts in 3 mins

4th Grade End of Year fact expectations:
Students should have quick mental recall of the following number of facts by the end of the year: 50 addition/50 subtraction facts in 2 mins and 100 division/ multiplication facts in 5 mins

4th Math: No S.L. Finish you journal pages from today’s lesson.
Geo. project October 10th

Science: Land and Water Challenge (this is optional for extra credit) Due Friday Sept 30th.

Continue to collect and bring in 2 ltr soda bottles!
Please continue to collect and bring in 2 ltr. clear soda bottles. We have enough for the Land and Water science unit. However, we will need more (only 10 more bottles!) for the ecosystems unit, which is taught later on in the year. Wash out the bottle. Remove the label. Keep the cap on.
