Welcome Back! I hope everyone enjoyed a restful and fun Thanksgiving break!
Subjects taught today:
Language Arts: Cursive and TFK reading

Book orders:
Holiday Gift orders will be submitted on 12/7
For easier ordering, please click on the book clubs link (see right side of blog) and register. Create your own username and password. Enter our classroom code: GKQKW and pay for your order online. You can then use this username and password for all future orders. The books will usually arrive approximately 1 week after the due date. Have fun shopping!

Reading:
3rd: 20 mins
4th: 30 mins
Parents, please initial at the bottom of each day’s planner entry, so that I know your child is completing their nightly required reading.

Spelling: Please have a parent read and sign the spelling letter. Show your parent your list of spelling words. Start to learn the pattern/list of words by using spellingcity.com (see link on frequently visited sites) Homework/signed letter is due back tomorrow Tuesday Nov 29th
You will take your test IN SCHOOL on Tuesday November 29th

Language Arts: Finish your Thanksgiving Guest Peer paragraph on the wiki.
- Go to the Class Language Arts wiki page. Sign in. Create a new page (top right corner) Give it a title (e.g your username and Thanksgiving guest)
- Tag it with you and your partner’s usernames, la, tguest (don’t forget the comma and space between each tag. Each word should turn into a blue bubble)
- Type your paragraph right on your new page. You can now both edit your work as you want and save. (One Wiki Glitch to Remember - don’t edit at the same time as each other)

Math
4th Math: No S.L. J. Page.82-85 Finish your math packet, if you didn’t complete it in class today.
3rd Math – H. L. 4.2 Please keep your Home Link book inside your binder! Multiplication fact practice: 5 mins every night!

3rd grade - Online Math tests www.thatqiz.org(for 3rd graders):
Did you complete Timed Multiplication #1
Measurement # 1 and #2 (cm) These two tests are not timed due 11/28

3rd Grade Online test IXL (3rd graders): Log in with username and password (given to you in class today, inside cover of H.Link book) Click 3rd grade, scroll down to bottom complete U.2 and U.3 (mean – you can use a calculator, median and mode)

ThatQuiz requires Internet Explorer 7+ or Firefox to function properly. Macintosh users (OS X) will have best results from Firefox, but may also use Safari version 4 or up. Cookies must be enabled.
How to take the online math tests:
Scroll down to Frequently Visited Places Click on thatquiz.org (for 3rd grade math students) Click on your name and use your school password to log in and take the assigned tests.
Or, log into your school email and click on the emails (with a link) that have been sent to you.


3rd Grade End of Year fact expectations:
Students should have quick mental recall of the following number of facts by the end of the year: 30 addition/30 subtraction facts in 2 mins and 50 division/50 multiplication facts in 3 mins

4th Grade End of Year fact expectations:
Students should have quick mental recall of the following number of facts by the end of the year: 50 addition/50 subtraction facts in 2 mins and 100 division/ multiplication facts in 5 mins

Science: None

Social Studies: Vocabulary paper. Please take a look over this list of words relating to our Communities unit and begin defining and explaining the words to a parent.
