Subjects taught today:
Language Arts: Finished Sign of Beaver packets
Math: (3rd) Lesson 5.5 generating large numbers (4th) Lesson 5.8
Science: Launched Ecosystems unit
Social Studies: Michigan State symbols
Co-curricular class: Eng. Tech and Swimming

Our fieldtrip to the Detroit Historical Museum is next Friday 1/13/12 (Permission slips were given to students yeaterday and are due Monday 1/9)
The chaperones for this fieldtrip are: Mrs. Chisholm, Mrs. Patterson, Mrs. Lewis, Mr. Curran, Mr. Beard, Mrs. Kohl, mrs. Roskiewicz and Mrs. Gusho. If you have a schedule conflict please let Mrs. Parkin know. Chaperones meet with Sue Reepmeyer in the media center at 9am. Busses depart BCS at 9:15am and we arrive back at approx. 1:30pm


Swimming started today.
Calling all Parkin’s Homeroom Moms! Are you available to supervise the girls locker rooms? We are in need of Moms for the female changing rooms from Jan. 5th - Jan 26th Then, after Jump Rope For Heart we resume swimming from March 12th – April 13th Please contact Harriet Sherman or email Mrs. Parkin if you can help. Thanks in advance!

Monday swim time is 12:55pm-1:40pm
Thursday swim time is 1:45 -2:30pm

Follow the directions on the spelling letter. You will take your test in class on Jan. 19th

4th Math:S.L.5.8 No J. Pages and Double digit Multiplication worksheet. Unit 5 review due Tuesday. Test is Wednesday
IXL 30 mins twice a week (or 1 hour each week)

3rd Math – H. L 5.5 Finish you Rounding worksheet. Please keep your Home Link book inside your binder!
Multiplication fact practice: 5 mins every night!

IXL: Practice any skills for 15mins. Twice a week (minimum of 30 mins each week)

NB: Starting with Unit 5 there will be points/credit given for turning in a completed and signed review by the test date.

Vocabulary paper # 2: Please take a look over this list of words relating to our Communities unit and begin defining and explaining the words to a parent. (Please note- this is not for grading purposes right now)
