Please Note: Student Led conference times are posted outside the classroom. Conferences are Wed 3/21 and Thursday 3/22 Please drop by to sign up for a timeslot. Or, feel free to email me with a time and I can write it on there for you.
Math students from Parkin's class who see Mr. Wallington - Your parents do not need to sign up for a conference with Mr. Wallington at this time. Progress reports will be given to all 4th grade math students.

Things to do this week:
• IXL practice each week (3rd 30 mins /4th 60 mins)
• 3rd math – No H.L Thatquiz (x9) Study your 4x’s and 6x’s for your spot check verbal test (see 3rd math below) Complete pages in math Journal Vol 1. Volume 2 will be given out tomorrow.
• 2012 Jump Schedule: Thursday, March 8th for Parkin’s class (1:45-2:30) – Parents, if you are available to help during this time or any other P.E. time (see full 3 /4 schedule at the bottom of this post) please contact Chris Manchester or Bill Johansson.

Reading: Parents, please initial at the bottom of each day’s planner entry, so that I know your child is completing their nightly required reading.
3rd: 20 mins 6.13 Read the Unit 7 Family Letter, if you haven't done so already!
4th: 30 mins

Spelling: You have your next spelling list. Spelling City activities completed by March 12.
Remember click log in and click log out for each activity to register on your account. To see what your teacher sees on the site, click on “My Records” after logging in.
Follow the directions on the spelling letter. You will take your test in class on March 12

IXL: Practice any 3rd grade skills 30mins each week (due by End of day Sunday, every week)

3rd graders NB - Spot Check Verbal tests begian today.Mrs. Parkin will randomly select students during math class to recite their 4x’s and 6x’s tables to her up to 10 x ¬¬__.

Computer Requirements for thatquiz.org:
ThatQuiz requires Internet Explorer 7+ or Firefox to function properly. Macintosh users (OS X) will have best results from Firefox, but may also use Safari version 4 or up. Cookies must be enabled.
How to take the online math tests:
Scroll down to Frequently Visited Places Click on thatquiz.org (for 3rd grade math students) Click on your name and use your school password to log in and take the assigned tests.
Or, log into your school email and click on the emails (with a link) that have been sent to you.

3rd Grade End of Year fact expectations:
Students should have quick mental recall of the following number of facts by the end of the year: 30 addition/30 subtraction facts in 2 mins and 50 division/50 multiplication facts in 3 mins

4th Grade End of Year fact expectations:
Students should have quick mental recall of the following number of facts by the end of the year: 50 addition/50 subtraction facts in 2 mins and 100 division/ multiplication facts in 5 mins

Science: Watch the 4 Brainpop movies on Classification and Evolution (Covington cobra) to prepare for your group quizzes (You can even take a ‘practice quiz’ at home by yourself.)

Engage: Finish your 3 recommendations and Quality Comments
