The R2-D2 Star Wars Robots are almost all done, but not quite. We want this major project and event to be properly completed so that they are done correctly and received by all the students at the same time. The students and all involved are doing a great job and the robots are coming out just fine. But, as can happen in industry, we have had some unexpected delays in the time it takes to teach and learn the particular skills and meet the output production anticipated. As of the end of the day Tuesday, 75 models are finished and our per-period production rate is climbing. “We will release no fine technology products before their time.”

I apologize for any inconvenience this rescheduling has caused. Hopefully you will still be able to attend one week later. If you made time to attend the original dates and want to assist with the final assembly process, you are still welcome to come at that time. The students are happy to be spending more time in the final assembly stages where the robots “come to life” and they see the results of their work, the finished product.

All of the 3-4 students will now receive their vehicles in special presentation assemblies on Thursday, June 9th and Friday, June 10th.

We are very proud of this unique and enormous undertaking and hope you are able to attend. These two-homeroom, mini-assemblies will take place in the Engineering Tech. Lab (Room #80) at their regularly scheduled class time. Mrs. Husband will join us with the first semester homerooms that are currently in Art.

BCS Character Ed Word of the Week: Creativity
Think about how rewarding it is to be creative in our thinking and approach to problem solving. Can you think of times when thinking creatively has helped everyone get something that they want? Or, has creative thinking helped you to accomplish a goal? Are you able to work creatively with others so that everyone feels included and empowered? How does it feel to work in a creative team? What steps have you taken to improve your creative thinking during collaboration and teamwork?
Lets RAK em’ UP! (RAK - stands for Random Acts of Kindness) We will be keeping track of these acts by the passing on of our class RAK bracelet.

Reminders:
• School starts at 8:18am Students should be in their homeroom seat by this time.
• Have 3 sharp pencils every day.
• Bring a water bottle and two healthy snacks every day.
• Bring a chapter book every day.

Language Arts:
Reading 3rd: Read 20 mins daily
Reading 4th: Read 30 mins daily
Parents - Please sign at the bottom of today's planner entry (completed by your child in class) to show that your child has done their required reading.

Writing: Edit your Informational Brochure on Google Classroom. You will start to share them in class this week.

Each week spend 20 minutes working in Compass Learning. (10 mins Language Arts/10 mins Math) Please click on the link under Frequently Visited Places. Student Spotlight
Once a month, a BCS student will be highlighted on the school website and possibly on the district website. Selection will be done by a random draw. Parent/Guardian permission is required on the form.

How to Access your ‘H drive’ from the BPS website.
Click on Departments, Technology Services, Staff Only Links, Remote Access (3rd from the bottom), login with username and password - don’t forget to save any changes you make on your home computer! –Then, email your updated file (as an attachment) to yourself (on your school email address) so that you can open it and resave it at school.
School email is found on the ‘Staff Only’ link. Click on Outlook (web access) and log in with your email address e.g. – lp05@birmingham.k12.mi.us and animal/number password

FOOD ALLERGY AWARENESS
