The following assignments should be written in your child's planner, which is inside their zipper binder. Parents, please use this blog to 'cross-check' with your child's planner. They should be completing their planner every day in class.
Homework
3rd graders - Read 20 mins (minimum) each night4th graders - Read 30 mins (minimum) each night
(Bring in a chapter book to read in class. You will keep your book inside your binder)
Language Arts
This week, students read Chapters 4-8 in our community read.
This week’s discussion questions:
What do you know about refugees?
In the book, different characters’ parents had differing views on the new student, Ahmet.
What were the different viewpoints and why do people have different opinions?
If you had to run away from war and leave your house and school behind forever, what three things would you take with you? Have every family member answer this question.
Math
4th Grade - No H/R
3rd grade - Homework and Remembering (H/R) 1-6
This book is in your child's binder and should be returned to school every day.
Language Arts - See the community read (Boy at the Back of the Class) questions to discuss at home.
Social Studies
Talk About (You do not need to write anything down for this homework, it is just to talk about to a parent at home)
