Detroit Science Center Fieldtrip is Friday February 11th
We will board the busses at 9:15am arriving at approx 10am at The Detroit Science Center. We should be back at BCS at 1:30pm.
Parent chaperones can pick up your agenda folders at 9:05am in the media center
The chaperones for this fieldtrip are: Mr. Curran, Mrs. Chisholm, Mrs. Walkotten, Mr. Diehl, Mrs. McNally, Mrs. Henricks, Mrs. Tavi and Mrs. Kohl. Thank you so much for volunteering!
Please let me know if you have a conflict with your schedule. We have two alternates (Mrs. Tavi and and Mrs. Cook) who may be able to step in.
Reading
READING TO WAIKIKI UPDATE – Our class has currently read a total of 3,650 miles
Can we read enough miles to reach tropical beaches of Waikiki, which is 4,500 miles away?
Tomorrow is the LAST DAY for reading coupons! We still need to read the equivalent of 850 miles!
3rd: (100 weekly minutes of reading = 50 Frequent flyer miles)
4th: (150 weekly reading minutes = 50 Frequent flyer miles)

Students should have quick mental recall of the following number of facts by the end of the year: 30 addition/30 subtraction facts in 2 mins and 50 division/50 multiplication facts in 3 mins
4th Grade End of year fact expectations:
Students should have quick mental recall of the following number of facts by the end of the year: 50 addition/50 subtraction facts in 2 mins and 100 division/ multiplication facts in 5 mins

Spelling: List #4 due Monday February 7th
Progress Check: Read the lists and choose a list to challenge yourself (You might want to choose the list with words that you think you will use in your writing)

This is a low key event in the classroom. Parents are always welcome to attend if they wish. The students will decorate a collection bag, swap their valentines and enjoy a cookie with water. Thank you in advance to our parent volunteers who signed up to supply the cookie/treats, the paper products and water for the day!
