Please Note: I was out of the classroom on Friday 10/26 to attend a meeting so I am posting my blog update today (Sat) Sorry for the delay!

Lansing Fieldtrip
Chaperones, there was an error on the top part of the permission slip that went home. The date for Parkin/Wallington to Lansing is THURSDAY NOVEMBER 29th. Mrs. Rifkin has this information correct on her sign up sheet. My apologies for the confusion!
The chaperones are Mrs. Chisholm, Ms. Moran, Mrs. Rifkin, Mrs. Roskiewicz, Mr. Beard, Mr. Martin, Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Liddell. If you have a conflict in your schedule please let Mrs. Rifkin know so that she can notify the alternate volunteers. Thanks so much!

Language Arts – Reader's Workshop and TFK Informational reading
Math – Unit 2 Post test
Co curricular class: Eng. Tech
Social Studies – The Northeast Region

Here is what we have for you today:
Language Arts: Access your H drive from home and edit your Halloween paragraph
To access your H drive:
Go to the BPS website, click on Staff Only section, scroll and click on Remote Access, enter your district username and password and look for your Halloween word document in your H drive.
 
Read at least 20 minutes (3rd graders) or 30 minutes (4th graders) after school each day. Raz-Kids reading can be used for this time. Raz-Kids reading Teacher username is lparkinaCalling All Parkin 4th Graders...

Don't forget to bring your parent permission slip to the launch THIS MONDAY!

To get to thatquiz.org click on the link under the Math link (right hand side of blog)
Click on your name
Type in your school password (no username needed)
Position one hand over the numbers on your keyboard and the other hand to click Enter or Submit with the mouse.
You can set up your own practice quizzes on thatquiz.org. You do not log in to set up practice quizzes. Just click the area you would like to study. Click on the no. of question, the level, the timing settings you want to test, and click create
· IXL - 10 mins in 3rd grade section (Focus on addition/subtraction sections) by Sunday. If these sections are complete (to Mastery level) 20 mins free choice in any section

4th Grade Math: Please check your planner for Friday's homework

Scholastic Book Club ordering. It’s so easy! Click on the link in the Lang. Arts section (right hand side) Set up your own parent username and password and type in the following code for Parkin’s class: GKQKW
There are various magazines available to order from.
The due date for the next set of orders is 10/29
Important Reminders:
• School starts at 8:20am. Students should be in their homeroom seat by this time.
• Please bring 3 sharp pencils to class every day.
• Bring a water bottle and two healthy snacks every day.
• Bring a chapter book every day.
